This is my response to a tag. If you’re subscribed to Mae Paulino’s blog, you will notice that this post is almost 2 months late. But I know Mae loves me so I’m sure she doesn’t mind (Right, Mae? Are you there? Hehe!). And because I don’t actually have the best idea on how to “define love without using cliches”, I’ll just take this chance to share my brother’s recent wedding.

Love is what made my brother and his then-girlfriend, Sharon, finally decide to exchange vows and spend the rest of their lives together. They got married in Batangas last June 22, 2008, which is the day after Typhoon Frank paid the Philippines a visit. He would’ve crashed the wedding if he knew how to get to the church! Thankfully, he didn’t wreck havoc in Batangas, but our friends in Bacolod had it pretty bad.
It was Signal no. 3 in Visayas the day they were supposed to fly to Manila. All flights were canceled at the last minute, even some guests who were coming from different parts of Luzon weren’t able to make it to the wedding. We were pretty pissed at what happened, but not as pissed as the bride who cried herself to sleep that night because she couldn’t believe the unfortunate incident had to happen that day, of all the 365 days of the year! What are the chances?
With a few minor adjustments, we all worked together to get everything going as planned. It’s a good thing my brother and his wife were very optimistic. We were worried about them for a minute there, but they themselves managed to make everything okay. It was indeed a fun wedding! See more photos here.
Our friends from Bacolod had their flight rescheduled to Monday so we got to be with them for a couple of days too! See photos here.
Looking at the newlyweds’ photo, I can’t help but feel happy for both of them. They’re just full of love and promise. If you know my brother like I do, you’d be surprised too at the sudden turn of events in his life. He used to be this irresponsible, not-knowing-what-to-do-with-his-life kinda guy, but look at him now! He has found the best girl and they really do belong together.
And Sharon is just the best. She’s fun, beautiful, kind, smart — there’s never a dull moment with her. I’m glad she’s part of our family now, and I can’t wait for her to get pregnant!!! I’m gonna be a cool, fun aunt — I just know it. Lol.
