• Working Girl

This does not have anything to do with the movie, I just couldn’t think of a better name — I’m very uncreative that way. Haha. Working Girl is a 2-column, widget-ready WordPress theme, available for download here.

For a time I didn’t have the desire to make WordPress themes anymore because, I don’t know, I just didn’t feel like it (and I don’t really have creative juices flowing in me, LOL). But the part-time job opening at E.Webscapes pushed me to try my luck. Lisa, the owner of E.Webscapes, is just the nicest. She stuck by me during my “audition” for several weeks, and just last Friday, she informed me that I got the job! I was so excited I kept thinking about it while I was on my 2-day vacation. LOL.

Anyway, Working Girl was my “audition piece” and fortunately it got me the job that I’ve been praying for. :) Why that kind of design you ask? In the sample order given to me, I was supposed to use a blue, green, and yellow color scheme and put an image of a blonde girl with blue eyes. And there should be books, a computer and a coffee. The header image is just a modified version of an image I got from GettyImages. With a touch of love and inspiration, the custom WordPress theme turned out like this. Now it’s up for grabs (since it was just a sample project). Hopefully, there are blonde bloggers out there who would make use of it. :D

Annie of eclecticwanderings.com sent me an e-mail a few minutes ago asking if I could change the girl’s hair to black. I swear I didn’t mean for this theme to project political incorrectness. Haha, just kidding. There should be a version two soon. Soon. After I finish the answering the pending memes. If I finish answering the pending memes. haha

Thanks again, Lisa! I know you’re kinda anticipating this post! LOL. And to the other designers, thanks so much for the warm welcome. :)

    Please support E.Webscapes!

PS: Thanks to (Kuya) Raymond for writing the short bio for me. :P

I like this theme alot. You have creative talent that is hard to find these days. I have been browsing themes for hours tonight, and most are ugly with only one or two aspects that I liked. Yours is well done in every aspect.

    thanks,
    nada

  14. I finally moved my blog from Wordpress.com to my Dreamhost account and have just switched to this template. I LOVE it! I’m blonde and blue-eyed, so it’s perfect. AND…I am the IT Director at a LIBRARY, so the books and computer are a perfect fit! Now, I just want to learn to make these templates myself so I can end up with a fun job like yours! :) Thanks for a great template.
