It’s always been a dream of mine to travel abroad and visit new places. I even envy those individuals who have all the time and money in the world to fly to this place and that place to collect souvenirs and pictures of beautiful sceneries. Evidently, that dream of mine is impossible for now. Someday, somehow, hopefully, I’ll be able to reach it. Like I said in my About page, I specifically want to go to Italy, and other parts of Europe. But don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to move there. I just want to take a visit, solely to enjoy the interesting sights. Philippines will always be home.
On the other hand, I think it’s a shame if I keep dreaming of stepping onto foreign lands when I’ve barely even traveled in my own land! I was born in Manila, I grew up in Bacolod, and I’m now back in Manila, but I’ve never been to that much places in the Philippines. The farthest place I’ve gone to in the south is Cebu, and in the north, Pagudpud. Thankfully, I know this group of surfing fanatics who make “surfing spots hunting” a hobby. I’m one big tag-along but I’m enjoying it. As long as I have my camera (and my book) I’m all set for the traveling, however long the drive is! :)
From Thursday to Sunday last week, I was with Deej and some friends driving north with 2 surfboards fastened above our heads. It was a long drive from Manila to La Union to Vigan to Pagudpud. But I didn’t mind much, I was busy dozing off on the way. :D But whenever I was successful in fighting off my drowsiness, I took pictures of whatever I found interesting along the way. We got off the car a couple of times for some serious picture-taking.
Nice view!
Yay! I’ve finally set foot in Vigan, the Heritage City.
Longganisa kayo dyan…
This horse’s name is “Jorgy”.
A wood-carved Jesus Christ (or at least we think it’s Him :))
Welcome to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte!
The perfect paradise beach resort.
Better than Puerto Galera and Boracay combined, IMO. :P
I love the fine, white sand and not-so-salty blue water.
Tired from traveling more or less 12 hours.
Next stop: South Luzon. ;)

wahh i wanna go there, ang ganda…i’m a south girl kasi once p lang ata ako napunta sa north hehe…
Aha! I want to go to Pagudpud! My friend said that there’s this certain beach there where you could actually see the edge of the Philippines. Plus everytime I go to Ilocos, it’s only with my family at Candon…I’ve never even been to Vigan. Haha anubayan.
I’m heading South this weekend, by the way! Camarines Sur, here I come!
Hay… napapagod nko magsabi na nakakainggit joni!!! hehehehe! It’s a shame that my mother’s roots are in Ilocos yet we’ve never visited the region. That beach is beautiful, looks really more enticing than PG or Bora!
As to the wood-carving, I think that’s Homer, the blind Greek poet (I think). ;)
Never been anywhere north besides Baguio and Benguet (and of course, the places I pass whenever I go to those places). Inggit naman ako, hehe.
Road trip? :p
I’m not well traveled either. The farthest I’ve ever gone was 18 hours away but I’m not big on traveling.
The photos look awesome!

Touche!. I was made in Bacolod (Nanay and Papa eloped) so bata palang makasalanan nako…and anu’dr touche, am also a travel freak…with low budget…kaladkarin sa mga librehan! hehehe

Travel is one thing that I love to do and hope to do more of this year, too.
