• Why Google Receives 3,000 Job Applications Everyday

Based in Mountain View, California, Google is known as one of the top 100 companies in America, if not, the world! But I don’t think the why part was really elaborated. A news clip in YouTube tells us some of the reasons why Googleplex is the killer place to work. I am soooo envious.

    The Googleplex:

    • has a huge game room where the “Googlers” can have fun any time during the course of the day.
    • has 11 gourmet restaurants with all the free food.
    • has its own fitness center.
    • has its own barbershop.
    • has its own carwash service.
    • has billiard tables.
    • has swimming pools.
    • has volleyball courts.
    • has its own massage services —- WAAH. This is the best one!

    Google also:

    • gives their employees $5000 each so they can buy a car.
    • allows its employees to come to work in their pajamas.
    • lets the employees do their laundry in the office.
    • provides 5 doctors on site.
    • allows the Googlers to bring their pets to work.

Everything is free! One employee even describes the company this way:

“This is the most engaging, insanely great work environment in corporate America. It blows your mind when you see all the food, the massage stations, the couches, the wacky behavior — people are truly having a great time at work here.” — And what does Google get in return? Employees with tremendous job loyalty and productivity.

    Another one says:

“It is easy to love this company, and a little difficult to keep a straight face.”

I think it’s good that Google is thinking about the welfare of its employees first before anything else. With this objective in mind, evidently the result is 100x beneficial to them. Google is earning tremendously and is growing very quickly. All because its people are inspired to work. :)

In contrary, I know of this one employer who bluntly says his employees “owe” their skills and creativity to his company. That his employees should always make it a point to give back whatever they can to his company. That it is because of his company that they have acquired the skills they have — For me, this is one big hoax. A joke! I almost scoffed upon hearing him say that. It’s true that workers learn something new in their workplace everyday, and it is true that it is the company that “feeds” the employee (so to speak) and his family, blah-blah-blah, but those are not enough reasons to take advantage of your employees or treat them as if their feelings and their welfare don’t matter. Never mind if health is at stake or there’s no room for growth anymore.. “So what? Who cares? This is company policy.”

At that kind of rate, they really shouldn’t be too surprised anymore when their people, as they reach their limits, start to leave one by one.

One thing I like about the company I work for now is the way they value their people above everything else. They have this philosophy that’s centered around this idea: “If the employees are happy, they work efficiently and productively. If the employees work efficiently and productively, the results are good. If the results are good, the client is happy. If the client is happy, the profit is good. If the profit is good, the owners and investors are happy” (Or something to that effect). In short, everybody’s happy! They believe the realization of the company’s goal starts with the employees. It’s like a chain reaction. — and I think that, simply, is good logic. They might not be entirely focused on that though, but it’s a good start.

No wonder Google is the top company in the US today. They know EXACTLY how to make their employees happy and satisfied (to the point of never wanting to leave!), because they know that’s the only way they can truly achieve success. I just wish… they’re open to hire people like me! Hahaha! Not even in my wildest dreams, I know. :P

I should learn hypnotism and make the top brasses of Google hire the incompetent me. Hehe! ;) Geesh, if only I’d known….

Employers take too much credit for their own good. It happens. But then, we know how absolutely wrong they are with their assumptions.

Hey, even though Google might *winks* not hire you, you’re still well taken cared of by an almost equally good company, right? ;)

Google is THE dream company! Lord, pwede po pa??? Sometime within my lifetime???

True, happy employees = happy company, not the other way round. Some companies don’t know that employees would go with the hassle of an overtime IF they get paid for it, and they’d REALLY, REALLY appreciate it if you give them benefits. Oh, and if their employees get their leaves not after 1 1/2 years of stay in the company, but…at least, say 6 months? Oh, and that they’d really appreciate a salary increase that is more than, oh, I don’t know, 3%, especially if they already have a family.

Haha, sorry ang angsty. I’m having company issues. =)) But again, happy employees = happy company. Yun na yun, I don’t know why other companies can’t see it. Hmph.

What could probably much more engaging is knowing that you are working for a company that renders unquestionable service to mankind (and not just there for the profit). :)

Wow. I wanna work in Google when I get older… That would surely be a pleasure.

I agree with you. If the company owner knows how to take care if his/her employees, the company will do fine.

    Take care!

LOL. That company you’re talking about sounds familiar. hahahaha. :P it really won’t take a while until reality hits them that the system is terrible, that the services they offer is lousy (spamming! wah!), and there simply is no growth. We did benefit from them, though, but we don’t owe it to them!! We owe it to ourselves. HAHA. Glad that phase of my life is over. :P

TARA NA GOOGLEEEEE! Far-fetched, I know, but maybe there’s away around it. I mean, kung hindi naten kayang dumerecho sa Googleplex, why not make a detour? Google Singapore office muna (i wonder if their office there resembles The Googleplex hehe), then, work our way through. HAHA, ANU BA. ETO NA NAMAN AKO.

    GAAAH.
