It’s true what they say. Music & Lyrics does get you all humming from the time you get up from your seat and leave the theater — and until you’ve reached your house and gotten ready for bed, which is practically the rest of the night. Haha. The LSS (and LDS?) goes on for hours that watching the videos in youtube over and over again seems like the next natural thing to do. This movie is definitely one of the best! Hats off to Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant.
Fortunately, Music & Lyrics is still showing in theaters last week. I really thought I missed it! We went to see it last night, and it’s needless to say that until today these two catchy, albeit lovely, songs are still reverberating in my head. I have to admit though that somewhere in the first few scenes of the movie I was beginning to feel disappointed, thinking “a Drew Barrymore movie could get better than this!” and “Hugh Grant looks really old with those wrinkles!” but the movie did manage to become more exciting. :D Hugh Grant, though wrinkly and fidgety in the movie, is surprisingly good with the piano and guitars (just as he did in About A Boy). He sings really well too, and he’s very funny. He reminds me of Adam Sandler, being the charming, witty, and musically-inclined love interest of Drew Barrymore, in The Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates. :)
Haley Bennett, the girl who played “Cora”, is really talented. She can actually be the next Britney Spears, if they go on promoting her. Not that I think Britney is any good (anymore) or even worth comparing to.
I’ve only got great things to say about Drew Barrymore. So, ’nuff said. :P

Hey thanks for the comment on my site. I want to see Music & Lyrics but the tickets here at the movies are too much. I dont feel like paying around $10 to see a movie, so I just wait til they come out on DVD. Drew Barrymore is an awesome actress, shes funny as well. I love her recent movies than her older movies though.

The movie is a fun romp of a romantic comedy and though this song would never make the Billboard Hot 100 all on its own, it’s nevertheless a fun, old fashioned love song in new packaging.
I wish I wasn’t the only one who has not watched the movie yet. Spoiler ka! Haha!
Someone also told me about the movie and the song… I haven’t heard it though but it seems to be ‘intriguing’ because it’s buzz.

Oh, I loved that movie. It was so sweet and funny. Sometimes, that’s all I want from a movie – just a relaxing flick to watch with someone or friends. No hyper action “boom boom explode”.

Cool post! I would like to see this movie. I almost forgot about it ’til now I’ve read your post. I heard Hugh Grant mention it when he appeared in Top Gear early this year.
But since the theaters here are slow (out of sync with Hollywood, I think somewhere they’re still showing E.T.) and expensive, I’d probably end up watching this on DVD.
