• A Sequel and an Update

Before I go ahead and blog about some updates, I would just like to write a little sequel to my previous comment-provoking entry. LOL. First of all, the “tooth extraction” I’m supposed to have is not the ordinary “doctor-please-remove-my-nasty-aching-tooth” kind of thing. (Romz, Sir Joel, di bulok ipin ko noh! Hekhekhek!). I was told that since my wisdom tooth is impacted (it began its improper surfacing about 9 months ago), the surgery will involve some gum incision, stitching, and the tooth extraction itself — and I think I even heard the dentist say something about scraping a part of my jawbone!

As someone who a) was never confined in a hospital due to an illness before, b) was never seriously injured, and c) feels faint at the sight of blood, flesh slitting, and icky internal organs, I am very, very terrified at this whole thing. More of the process involved, and a little of the pain. But since a handful of people assured me that the patient is usually sedated during the surgery, then the idea doesn’t sound so bad anymore. I would definitely go through it as long as I’m unconcious the entire time. (I can even pretend that I’m just having a bad dream!) However, there is one more thing to consider. The surgery is said to cost between 6500 to a whopping 10,000Php! Depending on what, I have no idea. I like to scare myself by thinking that the price depends on the amount of anesthesia to be infused. The smaller the amount, the cheaper the price. Hence, the greater the pain. Ouch. LOL.

My health card does not cover this kind of procedure — because life is just unfair that way.

Btw, the award for the most sensible comment goes to Anj! Very descriptive and informative. Friend, parang ayaw ko na ulit ituloy. Haha!

Enough about my tooth problem already, because I have more important news. Last Monday I started working for a new company in Makati. It’s been a tormenting first 3 days for me because of all the adjustment I’ve been making and the terrible longing for the people back in Oneglobal… especially these two ladies who are driving me crazy with their constant we-miss-you messages. Waaah! :(

Fortunately, I have Romzkee with me all throughout this adjustment period. Although we now only have each other to survive this transition, we’re doing our best to make it as fun as we can: e.g. by ridiculing some things (and/or people) we find hilarious in our new office; and by exploring the new things the Makati area has to offer us Ortigas babies. Hehe. The company we now work for has this exclusive instant messenger thingy, which now appears to be a big mistake on their part because Romzkee and I use it as a medium to exchange mean, chauvinistic jokes (and/or facts) about the things (and /or people) around us. LOL. Joke lang, peace po! :D

Our third day turned out okay. We’ve made a few friends here and there, but we still can’t shake the emotional peculiarity we are having. We both know it will take some time before we can finally normalize our feelings toward the situation we got ourselves in. Perhaps a few more days.

Although, I must say that I definitely have no objections against the new, spanking white computer, the spick and span desk, and the cozy, adjustable armchair that I can now (temporarily) call my own. Not to mention, the 5 regular working days: Mon-Fri, and the semi-flexi schedule I now enjoy. Finally, I feel like a regular working girl with a regular day job. LOL.

But I do terribly miss some dear friends.. I think about them all the time.
